Somalia is a country located in the Horn of Africa. Unlike most countries, Somalia has no central government control over the country's land. The internationally recognized Transitional Federal Government contains only parts of the capital. Due to no government control, Somalia is known as a failed state and is one of the most violent states in the world. Somalia is bordered by Yemen to the North, Ethiopia to the West, the Indian Ocean to the East, Kenya to the Southwest, and lastly Djibouti to the Northwest.
Somalia's terrain consists of mainly plains, highlands, and plateaus. Somalia gets hot weather year round as well as irregular rainfall and monsoon winds. Somalia has an informal economy based on money transfer companies, telecommunications, and livestock due to the two decades of war and lack of government. Since Somalia is so dangerous and there's no government, they do not get many tourists visiting each year.
