Northwest of the continent of Europe lies the island of Ireland. Its neighbor is Great Britain, which is separated by the Irish Sea. Ireland is the third largest island in Europe.
Ireland is very unique for it is split into two politically. It's split into two parts which is Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom. The Republic of Ireland only has about 5/6ths of land of the island.
The island itself is made of mountains surrounded by a central plain. It also has many rivers and many of them even go deep inland. It has lots of vegetation due to being close to the ocean climate. At one point, Ireland was dense woodland but it is now heavily deforested. It is considered one of the most deforested areas in Europe.
Irish culture is very unique as it is known to influence other cultures. An indigenous culture exists and it is expressed by the Gaelic games, Irish music, and language.
