Inc. with building and operating a cutting-edge domain name registry and creating a unique space where customers and internet users can learn about .flickr products and services in a targeted manner. YDS is applying for .flickr which it will manage for Yahoo! Inc.
The .flickr registry will be a standard registry, not community-based. Its purpose will be to:
• Ensure Flickr remains at the forefront of innovation by keeping pace with internet technology developments in line with other leading digital media companies;
• Protect Yahoo's intellectual property and ensure that the integrity of the Flickr brand is maintained at the highest possible level in the domain name system; and
• Provide a platform for the secure expansion of the Flickr service.
